Project Details and Upgrades
The $231,680 project includes a concrete viewing pad, new fencing, netting and poles, LED lighting, and wind break screens. These upgrades aim to improve recreational opportunities and support the growing popularity of pickleball in the community. Local pickleball groups will contribute 50 percent of the project cost through ongoing fundraising efforts.
Timeline and Administration
Project funding is available from June 1, 2025, through May 31, 2028. City Manager Randy Frazer said,
“This is a great example of partnership between local residents, the City, and federal support to make Wilson Park an even better community destination.”
The city will collaborate with the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks to manage the grant and meet all requirements.
