United Way Hancock County Pickleball Tournament: United Way of Hancock County kicked off its 2025 campaign season with a community pickleball tournament on Tuesday, September 9, at Findlay’s Riverside Park. The round-robin tournament ran from 4 to 8 p.m. and featured men’s, women’s, and mixed doubles. Participants had to be 18 or older.
Supporting Local Programs
The entry fee was $100 per team, with 100% of the registration fee going directly to United Way-funded programs. These programs serve one in four people in Hancock County. A local donor offered scholarships for participants who could not pay the fee. Interested players were encouraged to call the United Way at 419-423-1432 to request a scholarship.
Prizes and Participation Benefits
All participants received a free one-month membership to Jim’s Gym and one free Ninja course. The winning team received a custom trophy made by Kan Du Studio.
Annual Campaign Goals
The 2025 Annual Campaign runs through November 21 and includes additional events and opportunities for workplace and individual donations. This year’s campaign goal is $1.8 million, and all funds raised will stay within Hancock County to support local programs.
