Farmington Unveils Westwoods Pickleball Courts—Here’s What Players Need to Know Before the Grand Opening

Westwoods Pickleball Courts Opening: The Town of Farmington announced the soft opening of the Westwoods Pickleball Courts on Saturday, August 30, at 14 Westwoods Drive. The opening took place just before the Labor Day weekend after construction safety concerns were resolved. The courts were available for play starting that day.

Limited Amenities During Opening

At the time of the soft opening, some features, including bathrooms, were still under construction. Restrooms were available at the Golf Clubhouse for players and visitors.

The town reminded the public that Westwoods was a shared recreational complex, and visitors were asked to be mindful of parking, driving speeds, and shared spaces as activity increased.

Playing Rules for the Fall Season

During the Fall, play operated on a first-come, first-served basis. Players were asked to follow the paddle rack rotation system to ensure fairness and allow everyone a chance to play.

The Town of Farmington explained that this system was meant to keep games moving smoothly and make the courts enjoyable for all.

Future Plans for the Complex

Officials announced that the official grand opening of the Westwoods Recreational Complex, including the splash pad and restrooms, was planned for late Spring. At that time, a court reservation system would also be introduced.

The town thanked the community for its patience while final amenities were being completed.

Hours of Operation

The courts operated during the following hours:

  • Monday to Saturday: 7:00 a.m. to sunset

  • Sunday: 9:00 a.m. to sunset
