The Picklr Unveils Massive New Club in Downtown Indy—Is This the City’s Next Pickleball Hotspot?

The Picklr North Mass Opening: The Picklr, North America’s fastest-growing indoor pickleball franchise, will open its third Indiana club in late spring 2026. Called The Picklr North Mass, the new facility will be located at 1255 Roosevelt Avenue in Indianapolis, inside the redeveloped North Mass District led by Third Street Ventures.

A New Facility for Downtown Indianapolis

The Picklr North Mass will be the third of six planned clubs in the Indianapolis area. The 32,000-square-foot venue will include 12 indoor pickleball courts with outdoor-style surfacing, a pro shop, two private event rooms, and youth academies. Members will also enjoy unlimited league play, tournaments, and free open play.

The club will be open from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily. Members will receive free access to Picklr-sponsored events, instructor-led clinics, DUPR-rated leagues, and Wingfield skills training. They will also be able to use any Picklr facility nationwide.

Franchise Owners on Expansion

Dave Gilreath and Ron Brock, Indianapolis businessmen and managing partners of Pickle Indy, LLC, shared their excitement for the new location. They said, “We are excited to bring The Picklr to downtown Indianapolis and expand our growing Indianapolis-area community of pickleball lovers. After opening our Keystone Crossing and Noblesville clubs, we believe more than ever that The Picklr offers players across all levels and age groups a top-notch indoor pickleball experience. We look forward to adding our newest location just north of Indy’s popular Mass. Ave. district.”

Growth of the North Mass District

The North Mass District has been undergoing major redevelopment since 2020, when Third Street Ventures began transforming the former U.S. Corrugated Fiber Box Company site. More than a dozen businesses now operate in the district, filling 200,000 square feet of redeveloped space.

Antone Najem, founder and owner of Third Street Ventures, said, “Our next adaptive reuse development is focused on transforming the vacant, former International Paper manufacturing facility. We are pleased that The Picklr will be joining us in the North Mass District to anchor The International development. Bringing pickleball to downtown Indianapolis only reinforces Indianapolis’ role as the sports capital of the world. Ron Brock and Dave Gilreath’s Indiana team is building a community based on movement, health, wellness, and gathering of family and friends. We look forward to transforming another abandoned property with another local, growing Indiana business.”

Future Plans

Gilreath and Brock aim to open six Picklr clubs across central Indiana. They are considering new sites in Avon, Greenwood, and Zionsville. Their franchise group, Pickle Indy, also holds The Picklr rights in Nashville, Tennessee, and Fort Myers and Naples, Florida.

What It Means for Indianapolis

The Picklr North Mass is expected to strengthen the city’s growing pickleball scene and add to downtown’s redevelopment. With more clubs planned across the region, The Picklr could help make central Indiana a major hub for the sport while supporting local business and community growth.
