$10M Shreveport Pickleball Park Nears Final Vote—Will This Transform Local Recreation?

Shreveport Pickleball Park Nears Final Vote: The Caddo Parish Commission has approved moving forward with a $10 million plan to build a large pickleball park in south Shreveport. The project, which would include 19 courts, is now set for a final vote during a commission meeting on Thursday.

Project Details

Commissioners voted 8-2 in favor of advancing the proposal. The pickleball park would be built behind the Lash Family YMCA on East Flournoy Lucas Road. The complex would not only feature the courts but also include a walking trail, a clubhouse, and picnic pavilions for community use.

Purpose of the Plan

The project is part of the parish’s effort to create more recreational spaces for residents. Supporters believe the new park will provide a popular place for people of all ages to gather, exercise, and enjoy outdoor activities.

What Happens Next

The plan is not final yet. A formal vote by the full commission will decide whether the project moves forward. That vote is scheduled for Thursday.
