Texas Pickle Hall Grand Opening: Texas Pickle Hall will open its first indoor pickleball facility in Live Oak, near San Antonio, on Monday, September 29. The new complex, located at 201 Shin Oak Drive, will feature 12 professional courts, a climate-controlled space, and community-friendly amenities. The grand opening will begin with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10 a.m. led by Live Oak Mayor Mary Dennis.
Grand Opening and Features
The 30,000-square-foot venue offers obstruction-free courts, professional-grade lighting, and a 4,000-square-foot open-air patio bar designed like a traditional Texas ice house. The bar will provide drinks and a casual setting for visitors to relax, host private events, or celebrate special occasions. The facility will be open year-round for both new and experienced players.
Chief Operations Officer of Texas Pickle Hall, Alexander Komet, said the launch marks the end of a long journey.
“After a few construction delays, it feels amazing to finally be at the finish line. We’ve built this facility to support the full pickleball journey—from curious beginners to competitive athletes—and to create a place where the San Antonio pickleball community can truly grow.”(Alexander Komet)
Plans for Expansion
The Live Oak location has been nearly three years in the making, with planning first revealed in December 2023 through filings with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. The $2 million project will be the company’s first site.
Another facility is also in development in San Antonio’s Southtown area. That project will cover about 36,000 square feet and include 11 to 12 courts and 8,000 square feet of event space at 1334 South Flores Street. Company officials said the venue will host conventions, community play, and tourism events, with an opening expected in late 2025.
Building Community Through Pickleball
Alongside the courts, the venues are designed to bring people together both on and off the court. Alexander Komet explained his vision for the project.
“As a Navy veteran, I’ve seen firsthand how strong communities are built on shared experiences and forward-thinking leadership. Texas Pickle Hall is my way of giving back: building places where people can compete, connect, and create a better tomorrow together.”(Alexander Komet)
Looking Ahead
The opening of Texas Pickle Hall in Live Oak is expected to boost pickleball’s growth in the San Antonio area. With its mix of competition, social spaces, and expansion plans, the venue could become a major destination for players of all skill levels.
