Ennis Pickleball Club Shines Bright: Multiple Medal Wins at Inaugural Copper Cup Tournament

Ennis Pickleball Club Copper Cup Triumph: The Ennis Pickleball Club won several medals at the first Copper Cup tournament, held on August 30 and 31 at Stoddard Park in Butte. The event, hosted by the Butte Pickleball Club, brought together 76 players, including some who traveled from Great Falls, for a two-day competition.

Strong Showing from Ennis Players

Susie Downs and Jane Jellinek of the Ennis Pickleball Club won gold in the women’s 3.5-4.0+ division. Downs also claimed silver in the mixed doubles 3.5-4.0+ division with Jim Snyder.

In men’s play, Drue Holthe and Chuck Ravis earned silver, while Mark Hughs partnered with Steve Miller of Butte to win bronze.

Organizers Celebrate Tournament Success

Tournament organizer Tim Whitlow praised the community and the sport’s growth.

“We are thrilled with the success of the first Copper Cup. This event showcased the growth of pickleball in Montana and the incredible sense of community it brings. We couldn’t have done it without the support of our volunteers, sponsors and players.”(Tim Whitlow)

Growing Pickleball in Montana

The Copper Cup follows the Ennis Pickleball Club’s annual tournament and adds to the rising popularity of the sport in southwest Montana. The next tournament is set for October 11 in Sheridan, where the Sheridan Charitable Community Foundation will team up with Vigilante Pickleball during the Fall Festival.
