David L Nycum Memorial Pickleball Tournament: The 5th Annual David L Nycum Memorial Tournament will take place September 12–14, 2025, at the Hagerstown Fieldhouse in Hagerstown, Maryland. Registration closes on September 6 at 9:00 p.m. EST, with an entry cost of $45. This pickleball event supports the David L Nycum College Scholarship Program, which awards scholarships to deserving YMCA high school juniors and seniors.
Event Schedule
The tournament begins with free clinics and a demonstration session on September 11 from 3 to 5 p.m., followed by a social meet-and-greet from 6 to 8 p.m. The meet-and-greet includes food for $15 and features a silent auction.
Tournament play starts on September 12 with men’s and women’s singles and doubles (70+). September 13 features mixed doubles and high school mixed doubles. The competition closes on September 14 with men’s and women’s doubles.
Age Groups and Skill Levels
Age brackets for doubles include 39 and under, 40–59, 60–69, and 70+. High school mixed doubles are open to ages 14–18. Players will compete at skill levels 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, and 4.5.
The event follows a round-robin format, and medals will be awarded to the top three finishers in every division. Registration uses self-rating, but organizers will review DUPR ratings before the close of registration and may move players if needed.
Player Perks and Venue
Those who register before August 31 will receive a free tournament hat. T-shirts are available during registration for $15 and at the event for $20.
Games will be played on TaraFlex flooring at the Hagerstown Fieldhouse. The venue has a second-floor balcony that allows spectators to watch from above. Giveaways and raffles for pickleball equipment will also take place during the weekend.

Refund Policy
Withdrawals before September 6 will be charged a $5 processing fee, but no refunds will be issued after registration closes. Pickleballtournament service fees are non-refundable.
