Red Morton Community Center in Redwood City is offering an Adult Novice Pickleball class from September 9 to October 28, 2025. Classes are held every Tuesday from 8:30 a.m. to 9:25 a.m. Participants will learn the basics of pickleball in sessions led by Thomas Sarsfield, a longtime Stanford/USPTA professional.
Learn From Experienced Instructors
The classes feature instruction from the staff of Stanford Hall of Famer John Whitlinger and Thomas Sarsfield. Each session lasts 55 minutes, with groups of 4-12 adult players, keeping four players per court. Students are required to bring their own paddles.
Skills and Fundamentals
The program teaches all the essential strokes, including forehand, backhand, volleys, dinks, drop shots, overheads, and serves. It also covers pickleball rules, scoring, and basic play strategies. The sessions are designed to be fun and welcoming for beginners, helping participants enjoy the fastest-growing racket sport in the world.
