Adult Low Intermediate Pickleball Classes: Adult pickleball players in Redwood City will have a chance to sharpen their skills this fall with a new class at the Red Morton Community Center. The program runs from September 9 to October 28, offering weekly sessions led by Stanford Hall of Famer John Whitlinger and longtime Stanford/USPTA professional Thomas Sarsfield.
Program Details
The classes are scheduled every Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. to 10:25 a.m. at the RMCC Gym Far Half, located at 1120 Roosevelt Avenue, Redwood City. Each session lasts 55 minutes, with a total of six lessons included.
Groups will range from four to twelve players, with four players per court. Participants must bring their own paddles.
What Players Will Learn
The program focuses on improving stroke techniques while introducing more advanced strategies. Players will review fundamentals and learn tactics such as poaching overload and stacking formations.
This second-level class is designed for adults seeking to build confidence and apply skills in real-game situations.
Instructors and Experience
Instruction will be provided by John Whitlinger, a member of the Stanford Hall of Fame, and Thomas Sarsfield, a veteran Stanford coach and USPTA professional. Their combined experience offers participants high-level coaching in a supportive group environment.
Building Skills and Community
The class aims to help players grow their knowledge of the game while enjoying the social and fitness benefits of pickleball. With small group sizes, each participant can receive focused guidance while practicing with others at a similar level.
