Viva Padel & Pickleball Club Flourtown Launch: Viva Padel & Pickleball Club, which opened its first outdoor site in Philadelphia three months ago, will open its first suburban indoor club in Flourtown. The 30,000-square-foot facility at 825 Bethlehem Pike will feature five padel courts, three pickleball courts, lounges, locker rooms, and social areas.
Partnership and Investment
The club is a partnership between Viva’s ownership group, led by Mehdi Rhazali, and the Magarity Tennis Club building owners, led by Chris Magarity. The partners plan to invest $750,000 to $1 million to renovate the 49-year-old Magarity Tennis Club, converting it into a modern padel and pickleball complex. The facility is expected to open in late September or early October.
Meeting Growing Demand for Padel
Chris Magarity said, “I’ve wanted to do something different with this building for some time. The tennis crowd was clearly aging, and padel is one of the fastest-growing sports in the world. I saw that there was this large appetite for padel, and not enough places to satisfy it.” Most padel courts in the region are outdoors and located at private country clubs, making the new facility a unique indoor option.
