Glazebrook Open Pickleball Tournament 2025: The Village of Godfrey will host its first pickleball tournament, the Glazebrook Open, on October 4 and 5, 2025, at Glazebrook Park. Registration is open now, and community members can compete in doubles events for $10 per person, with brackets for both open and 50+ age groups.
Tournament Details
The Glazebrook Open will feature men’s doubles, women’s doubles, and mixed doubles tournaments. Each day begins at 8 a.m. Players over 50 can choose to compete in age-specific brackets. Chris Logan, director of the Godfrey Parks and Recreation Department, said,
“This is something that the mayor and I have been talking about for a long time… We’re going to call it the Glazebrook Open.”
Building a Competitive Pickleball Community
Pickleball has grown in popularity across the country, often as a casual game. Logan hopes the Glazebrook Open will provide a more structured, competitive experience. He added,
“It’s a community. They really have fun. It’s really a great way to stay active and to be socially active as well as getting some exercise.”
Registration and Participation
Players can register by calling the Godfrey Parks and Recreation Department at 618-466-1483 or by visiting Godfrey Village Hall. Logan encourages early registration rather than signing up on the day of the event. More information is available on the official Facebook event page for the Glazebrook Open pickleball tournament.
