Geneva’s Pickleball for Health: Rally, Play, and Make a Difference for Local Hospital

Pickleball Fundraiser Geneva General Hospital: The Finger Lakes Health Foundation and the Friends of Geneva General Hospital, with support from the Lyons Pickleball Club, will host Pickleball for Health on Saturday, October 18, at Geneva High School. The event aims to raise funds for Geneva General Hospital, including new X-ray equipment, while offering fun and pickleball for all skill levels.

A Day of Pickleball and Community Fun

The event at 101 Carter Road, Geneva, will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with a rain date of Saturday, October 24. Players can join family-friendly beginner sessions, intermediate mixed doubles, or advanced tournament play. The morning clinic, led by In a Pickle, Canandaigua’s new indoor pickleball facility, is ideal for beginners.

Event Activities

From 9 to 11:30 a.m., families and beginners can enjoy instruction, games, drawings, breakfast, and open play for a $25 fee that includes food and swag. Intermediate mixed doubles begins at 11:30 a.m., and advanced mixed doubles at 2:30 p.m., each with a $35 entry fee including food, swag, and awards. Lyons Pickleball Club will coordinate tournament play.

Community and Support

Mary Sue Dehn, Director of Development at the Finger Lakes Health Foundation, said,

“We are so grateful to our sponsors and to everyone joining us to play and help raise funds in support of Geneva General Hospital—a true example of a community coming together for its hospital.”

The event combines sport, fundraising, and community spirit, allowing residents to support healthcare locally while enjoying pickleball. All proceeds directly benefit Geneva General Hospital services, enhancing patient care and medical resources.

How to Participate

Participants can register for beginner clinics or tournament play through the Finger Lakes Health Foundation or the Lyons Pickleball Club website. Spectators are welcome to join, enjoy the activities, and support the cause.
