Forest Ridge Pickleball Courts Grand Opening: The Club at Forest Ridge in Tulsa, Oklahoma, will open Phase 1 of its new climate-controlled Indoor Racquets Dome in September, featuring two indoor tennis courts and four indoor pickleball courts. The facility aims to provide year-round play and expand the club’s racquet sports offerings.
Grand Opening Celebration Planned
A Grand Opening event is scheduled for Sept. 19–21 at the new Indoor Racquets Dome. Activities include members-only events on Friday, Sept. 19, and public events on Saturday and Sunday. Highlights include a mixed Moneyball Pickleball Tournament, mixed doubles tennis tournament, pro pickleball exhibition, meet-and-greet with PPA pros, and open pickleball play. Registration is required to participate.
Phase 1 of a Larger Racquet Center
Managed by Bobby Jones Links, the new dome is the first phase of a complete indoor tennis and pickleball center, which will also include a pro shop and fitness center. Outdoor amenities already include six lighted tennis courts, also lined for pickleball. Future plans include more courts, locker rooms, and expanded facilities.
Expert Staff and Coaching
Ben Lott, a former Division I tennis player and coach at Drake University, serves as the club’s director of racquet sports. Lott recently hired James Moore as the head pickleball professional. Lott said, “The biggest difference the indoor facility will make is that it converts Forest Ridge into a year-round program. Previously, we essentially had to shut down from December to February. Now we’ve got consistency all year. That’s going to make a huge difference.”
Program Growth and Community Appeal
The new facilities aim to grow both tennis and pickleball at Forest Ridge. Tennis remains competitive with USTA league teams and structured drills, while pickleball offers a more casual entry for beginners. Lott added, “High-level players are going to want to play on our courts.”
Resort-Style Amenities and Recognition
The club is part of a 1,000-acre residential development owned by Joe Robson, featuring golf, dining, lakes, parks, and a 10-mile trail system. Its Randy Heckenkemper-designed golf course opened in 1989, and the Ridge Club opened in 2019. The property has received multiple awards, including Top 25 Off Course Amenities by Golfpass, Best Subdivision in Tulsa Parade of Homes, and Best Residential Development by Tulsa World.
Future Impact
Once fully completed, The Club at Forest Ridge could feature up to 18 outdoor tennis courts, four indoor tennis courts, and eight indoor pickleball courts. The dome and staff are expected to enhance year-round participation, attract top players, and establish the club as a premier racquet sports destination in the Tulsa area.
