Cockeysville Dill Dinkers to Celebrate 1st Anniversary with Pickleball Tournament

The Cockeysville Dill Dinkers facility in Maryland will celebrate its first anniversary by hosting a pickleball tournament on September 20 and 21, 2025. The event will feature men’s, women’s, and mixed doubles brackets for different skill levels and age groups, with medals and gifts for participants. Registration closes on September 17, 2025.

Event Details

The tournament will take place at 10912 York Road, Building 500-C, Cockeysville, Maryland. The venue is an air-conditioned warehouse space with 20-foot ceilings, cushioned courts, and permanent nets. All teams are guaranteed at least six games, including round robin play and single-elimination playoffs.

Competition Format

Each bracket will begin with six teams. Players will compete in five round robin games, each played to 15 points, win by 2. All teams then advance to playoffs, with the top two seeds receiving a first-round bye. The gold medal match will be best-of-three games to 11, win by 2.

Skill Levels and Brackets

On Saturday, men’s and women’s doubles events will take place in three skill groups: 3.0, 3.5, and 4.0, with age categories of up to 39, 40–59, and 60+. On Sunday, mixed doubles events will follow the same skill and age divisions. Player ratings will be determined by DUPR, and results will be uploaded automatically.

Registration and Costs

The registration fee is $45, with an additional $15 per event and a $5 management fee. Registration will initially be capped at six teams per bracket, with unlimited waitlists. Teams on waitlists may be added later if brackets are merged. Start times will be posted on September 17.

Prizes and Gifts

Award medals will go to the first, second, and third-place teams. The first 200 registered players will also receive a complimentary sports towel and paddle cover. Organizers say, “PickleMeSilly pledges to maximize game flow and limit the wait between matches by never overselling and creating brackets allowing for the most playing time and least amount of delays between matches.”

The event will follow USA Pickleball rules for 2025. Only approved paddles may be used. Alcohol is permitted for spectators and players not currently competing, but smoking and vaping are banned inside the facility. Children are welcome but must be supervised at all times.
