CenTex Gold Cup Pickleball Tournament 2025: The CenTex Gold Cup, part of the Amateur Pickleball Association (APA) Tour, will take place on September 20–21, 2025, at Austin Pickle Ranch, 11000 Middle Fiskville Road, Austin, Texas. Registration closes on September 17 at 8:00 a.m. EST, with entry fees starting at $75.
Tournament Overview
The APA is the nation’s largest amateur pickleball tour, hosting nearly 150 events in 2025. The program includes PicklePerks, a system where every participant earns money through registrations and victories. These funds can be used for future tournaments or apparel.
The CenTex Gold Cup is open to players rated between 2.5 and 5.0. Divisions are first sorted by skill level and then, when possible, by age group. Most players are expected to compete in 7–9 games during the two-day event.
Event Format and Schedule
Early bird registration rates are $75 for the first event, $55 for the second, and $35 for the third (with a promo code available for discounts). The tournament schedule typically places doubles matches on Saturday morning, mixed doubles on Sunday morning, and singles in the afternoons.
A six-game guarantee is in place. Round-robin matches will be played to 11 points, win by 2. Medal matches will follow a best-of-three format.
Divisions and Seeding
APA will place players in qualifying divisions based on their Dynamic Universal Pickleball Rating (DUPR). Players with at least 25 posted games and a 60% or higher reliability score will compete at their official rating. This prevents players from competing in lower divisions.
APA’s event policies also outline how seeding and tie-breakers will work. It is the responsibility of each player to review these details before registering.
Refund and Credit Policy
Registrations are final once payment is processed. No refunds will be issued, but credits may be given under certain conditions. Players who withdraw more than two weeks before the event will receive a full credit for a future tournament.
Outdoor events do not have indoor backup options. If bad weather prevents play, a 50% credit will be issued to players who did not compete in any matches. No credit will be available once games begin.
Players without partners who cannot be matched before the event will also receive a credit for future use. However, players changing partners within two weeks of the event must re-register and pay again, with the withdrawn player receiving a credit minus a $15 processing fee.
Prize Money
The CenTex Gold Cup includes OPEN Doubles Cash Prize Divisions, where players of any age or skill level can compete for cash rewards. If the division sells out, the prize structure will be:
Gold: $1,000
Silver: $600
Bronze: $400
The payouts will be divided 50% for gold, 30% for silver, and 20% for bronze.
Significance of the Event
The CenTex Gold Cup highlights the rapid growth of amateur pickleball across the United States. With APA’s expanded tour and reward system, players not only gain competitive experience but also enjoy incentives that encourage continued participation. The Austin event is expected to draw wide interest from players across skill levels.
