Manzano Mesa Drop-In Pickleball Event: Ava will host a Wednesday Morning Drop-In Pickleball event on September 17 from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at the Manzano Mesa Pickleball Courts, 501 Elizabeth Street SE, Albuquerque, 87123. The session is open to all skill levels, with beginners asked to know basic rules before joining.
Drop-In Format Explained
Players do not have to arrive at the start time. Participants may stop by anytime during the two-hour event and leave when ready. Ava confirmed, “I will be there for at least the minimum time posted.” RSVPs are encouraged so organizers know how many to expect.
Since the event uses public courts, arriving early helps ensure courts close to each other can be reserved.
Play Rules and Rotation
Ava asked for help keeping play fair and organized. “If there are members waiting to be rotated in, the 2 players that just lost in the current game rotate out to wait in line. The first 2 players waiting in line then rotate in, and the players that just won the game stay on court but split up. Holler at me if you need clarification.”
This rotation system aims to give all participants equal playing time.
What to Expect
The meetup will be casual and open to players of all levels. Beginners are welcome, though they should know the basics. Because the courts are outdoors, poor weather could cancel the event. Attendees should watch the event page and email for updates.
It is common to wait for court space, as the group shares public facilities with other players. Players are asked to bring paddles, balls, proper shoes, water, and clothing suited to the weather.
Looking Ahead
The drop-in format allows more flexibility for busy schedules while encouraging fair play and community participation. Organizers hope the format will keep the games fun and accessible for everyone.
