Battle for a Cause: First Priority Charity Tournament Promises Big Prizes and Bigger Impact This September

The First Priority Charity Tournament will take place on Friday, September 19, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at The FORT, located at 891 Southwest 34th Street. Players must arrive by 8:30 a.m. to check in. The event, hosted by Jeremy Copelandh, will raise funds to support the mission of First Priority.

Divisions and Registration

The tournament will feature three divisions. The beginner bracket, rated 3.4 and below, and the intermediate bracket, rated 3.5 and above, both cost $120 per team. Winners in each group will receive first, second, and third-place awards.

The advanced “money ball” division is for players at the 4.0 to 5.0 level. Teams in this bracket will compete for cash prizes. The entry fee is $150 per team, with $300 awarded to first place and $200 to second place. Organizers encourage winners to also participate in a silent auction that benefits First Priority.

Registration is open through September 20, and all players must register as a team using the SWISH App, which will send schedules and updates. Teams may be same-gender or coed. Payment must be made by one teammate, who can then collect from their partner.

Rules and Format

The event will use Diadem pickleballs and follow USA Pickleball rules. Games will be played in a round robin format, with top teams advancing to the championship bracket. Round robin matches will be played to 11 points, win by one. Championship bracket matches will go to 15 points, win by two.

There will be no referees for most matches, so fair play is expected from all participants. The championship round of the advanced “money ball” division will be supervised by the tournament director.

Refund Policy and Weather Plans

No refunds will be given after September 15. In the case of weather delays, the tournament director has the right to adjust the format to complete play.

Community Impact

The tournament provides an opportunity for players of all skill levels to compete while raising money for First Priority. With divisions for beginners, intermediates, and advanced players, the event aims to bring the pickleball community together for a good cause.
