Operation Be Kind’s Pickleball Tournament: Operation Be Kind is hosting a pickleball fundraiser, “Dink for Kindness,” on September 27, 2025, at the Felipe Tennis and Recreation Center, 27161 Nogal, Mission Viejo, California. Hosted by Sophia Tran, the event offers men’s, women’s, and mixed divisions. Entry fees range from $30 to $60 per player, with registration closing on September 23, 2025. All proceeds support OBK’s community programs.
Tournament Divisions and Schedule
Participants will play in three divisions:
First Division: $60 per player
Second Division: $30 per player
Third Division: $30 per player
Time slots are organized by division:
Women’s Divisions 2.5–3.0, 3.0–3.5, and 3.5+: 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm
Mixed Divisions 2.5–3.0, 3.0–3.5, and 3.5+: 4:30 pm – 6:30 pm
Men’s Divisions 3.0, 3.5, and 4.0+: 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm
All participants will play with their registered partners throughout the event. Each team is guaranteed at least three games. Games will follow standard scoring, played to 11 points, win by 1, or timed as confirmed at check-in.
Rules and Equipment
Matches will be held outdoors on hard-surface courts. Players are encouraged to stay hydrated and wear sunblock. Selkirk Pro S1 Pickleballs will be used, offering advanced technology for improved play. Match schedules will be posted the day before the tournament. Weather delays will result in rescheduling.
Donations and Refund Policy
All entry fees are considered donations to Operation Be Kind and are non-refundable. Donors may use Tax ID #82-1829114 for tax filing purposes. Proceeds will directly fund OBK’s programs to support the local community and spread acts of kindness.
Operation Be Kind’s “Dink for Kindness” combines friendly competition with charitable giving, allowing players of all levels to enjoy pickleball while making a difference. The event emphasizes community, compassion, and fun on and off the court.
