Kansas City Masters Pickleball Tournament Promises Big Cash Prizes, Perks, and Fierce Competition This September

Kansas City Masters Pickleball Tournament: The Kansas City Masters will bring top amateur pickleball action to SW19 at The Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri, on September 27–28, 2025. Players must register by September 24 at 8:00 a.m. CST. The Amateur Pickleball Association (APA) will host the event, offering cash prizes, skill-based divisions, and exclusive rewards for participants.

Tournament Details

Registration costs $75 for the first event, $55 for a second, and $35 for a third event with a promo code. Players can compete in singles, doubles, and mixed doubles, with doubles starting at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, mixed doubles at 8:00 a.m. on Sunday, and singles scheduled for the afternoon on either day. Each player is guaranteed at least six games. Round-robin matches will be played to 11 points, win by two, with medal matches decided in best-of-three sets.

Skill Levels and Divisions

The tournament is open to all players rated from 2.5 to 5.0. Competitors will first be grouped by skill level, then divided by age depending on the number of entries. The APA uses DUPR ratings to place players in the correct division. Players with at least 25 posted DUPR games and a 60% or higher reliability rating must compete at their official DUPR level. “Players with 25+ games posted to DUPR and a 60%+ reliability rating will play at their posted DUPR rating regardless of their assumed abilities,” the APA states.

Cash Prize Opportunities

All events will include an OPEN Doubles cash prize division. Teams of any skill or age can enter to compete for prize money. The payouts are set at $1,000 for gold, $600 for silver, and $400 for bronze, provided the division is sold out. Gold teams receive 50% of the total prize pool, silver 30%, and bronze 20%.

Player Rewards and PicklePerks

The Kansas City Masters is part of the APA’s nationwide 2025 schedule, which features nearly 150 tournaments. Every participant earns “PicklePerks,” turning registrations and event results into cash credits for future tournaments or apparel.

Registration and Refund Policy

All registrations are final once payment is processed. No refunds are issued after registration, but credits may be offered under certain conditions. Players withdrawing two or more weeks before the start date will receive a full credit for a future event. Outdoor events affected by weather will not move indoors, but players who play no matches due to weather may receive a 50% credit. “A refund is an amount processed back to the individual customers credit card. A credit is held with APA for future use towards an event of your choosing with no expiration date,” the APA explains.

Why It Matters

The Kansas City Masters gives amateur players a chance to compete in a professional-style tournament while earning cash and credits. With skill-based divisions, guaranteed games, and cash prizes, the event is designed to reward both competitive play and consistent participation in the growing amateur pickleball scene.
