Officials Highlight Pickleball’s Popularity
“Pickleball is one of the fastest-growing sports in the country, and we’re proud to bring two new courts to Outhouse Park,”
said Town Supervisor Jared Simpson. He praised the Highway Department crew for managing the project alongside summer road improvements.
Focus on Quality Construction
Highway Superintendent Jim Fletcher said the courts are being built with strong foundations and careful grading.
“We’re committed to creating quality facilities that residents will be able to enjoy safely for many years,” (Jim Fletcher).
Pickleball’s Appeal
Invented in 1965, pickleball combines tennis, ping-pong, and badminton. It is easy to learn, low-impact, and social, attracting families, seniors, and casual players. The sport now has more than 13 million players across the United States.

Greg Reynolds, Director of Parks & Recreation, said the new courts fit the town’s plan to expand active spaces.
