2025 Summer Slam Pickleball Tournament: County Fire Pickleball will host the 2025 Summer Slam Tournament next Saturday, Sept. 27, at The Paseo Club, 27650 Dickason Drive, Valencia, California. The event will benefit causes and individuals connected to first responders. Check-in begins at 7 a.m. for the first matches and 30 minutes prior for all other events.
Registration Reopened
Due to high demand, registration has reopened through Friday, Sept. 26. Players must register as a team, and the cost is $60 per person. Registration includes a tournament T-shirt for those who signed up by the original Sept. 20 deadline. Late registrants will not receive a shirt. Players may register for up to two events.
Tournament Divisions
The tournament will include juniors (ages 8–16), women’s 3.0/3.5/4.0+, men’s 3.0/3.5/4.0/4.5, 2.5 non-gender, and mixed doubles 3.0/3.5/4.0+. Joola balls will be used for all matches.
Schedule
7 a.m. — Check-in for all women’s divisions and 2.5 non-gender
7:30 a.m. — Women’s 3.0/3.5/4.0 and 2.5 non-gender matches begin
10:30 a.m. — Check-in for men’s divisions
11 a.m. — Men’s 3.0/3.5/4.0/4.5 matches begin
2 p.m. — Check-in for mixed doubles and juniors
2:30 p.m. — Juniors and mixed doubles matches begin
Format and Rules
Each division will play at least five games. Round-robin play will determine seeding for single-elimination playoffs. Divisions with 4–10 teams will advance the top four to playoffs, while divisions with 10 or more teams will advance the top eight. Matches are played to 11 points, win by two. The tournament follows 2025 USA Pickleball Association rules, with players calling their own lines. Divisions with fewer than four teams may be combined.
Fundraiser
The Summer Slam is a fundraiser to benefit a firefighter who experienced a life-changing medical emergency while at work. The event will not be DUPR-rated.
