Evans Lane Pickleball Complex Set to Transform Chubbuck With Five-Story Sports Hub and Major Tournaments

Evans Lane Pickleball Complex: A five-story pickleball complex is under construction on a six-acre property at 152 Evans Lane in Chubbuck. Led by local developer Joshua Ellis, the facility is expected to open its professional-size courts by early 2026.

Modern Pickleball Facility

The new complex will include 10 indoor courts built to professional standards. To prepare for the project, Evans Lane and Linden Avenue were widened, and a new road is being built to connect the two streets.

“It’s the fastest growing sport in the country. It’s not just the older ages, you’re starting to see collegiate, professionals (and) high school (players). It’s moving down. It’s growing.”(Joshua Ellis)

Hosting Major Tournaments

Ellis explained that the project will allow Chubbuck to host tournaments that locals often travel to other cities to attend.

“We’ll be doing things that oftentimes people leave this area to go to tournaments in Twin Falls, to go to tournaments in Boise, to go to tournaments in Logan. We’ll be able to host those tournaments here. We will rival what oftentimes people leave this area to do.”(Joshua Ellis)

Local Roots and Vision

Ellis, who grew up in a family of builders, said his inspiration came after watching how tennis courts were being converted into pickleball courts.

“Some kids grew up on a farm, I grew up on a construction site. This is me just seeing a need and then trying to fill that need and create something that the community can do and can have fun (with).”(Joshua Ellis)

He believes the project reflects the region’s future.

“This valley is changing, it’s growing. It’s doing things so that we can continue to enjoy what we’ve always enjoyed but (with) our kids and grandkids.”(Joshua Ellis)
