Rolling Meadows Park Unveils Game-Changing Pickleball Courts and Ninja Course in $1.3M Transformation

Rolling Meadows Park Pickleball Courts: Rolling Meadows Park District leaders will host a ribbon-cutting at 9 a.m. Saturday to celebrate major improvements at Community Center Park, 3800 Pheasant Drive. The $1.3 million project includes two pickleball courts, a Ninja course, an outdoor gym, and new landscaping, giving families more ways to enjoy outdoor recreation.

New Features and Amenities

The 27-acre park now has a 60-by-74-foot pickleball court area with button-operated light poles, which automatically turn off at 10 p.m. Other additions include a Ninja obstacle course, an outdoor fitness gym, and plans to plant native wildflowers and grasses in the park’s bioretention basin in 2026.

Nick Troy, the park district’s executive director, said, “With the wide range of amenities and opportunities being added, it represents an exceptional value for the community while maximizing the impact of the park district’s capital improvement budget. In an era when families are looking to reduce screen time and spend more time outside, this project provides countless opportunities to experience one of our most popular parks.”

Event Details and Community Impact

Construction wrapped up five months after the groundbreaking. Designs for the park transformation were shared at a community meeting two years prior, and zoning approvals were granted last year. The ribbon-cutting ceremony will feature fitness competitions, light refreshments, giveaways, raffles, and prizes. State and local officials will attend to celebrate the upgrades.

The improvements are expected to boost outdoor activity for residents and provide a wide range of recreational options. By investing in high-quality amenities, Rolling Meadows Park District aims to make Community Center Park a central hub for fitness, fun, and community engagement.
