Westside Pickleball League Smashes Records and Unites Community at Rally on the Rock

The Westside Pickleball League launched its fourth season with the Rally on the Rock tournament at the Nino Cantu SW Athletic Complex. The event drew more than 130 players on Saturday, bringing together pickleball enthusiasts of all ages for a full day of competitive play and community support.

Strong Turnout Across Age Groups

Co-founder Rosina Geary said the tournament attracted participants from a wide range of age groups, highlighting the sport’s growing popularity. Matches began around 9 a.m. and continued well into the afternoon as players battled for early-season bragging rights.

Supporting Local Student Athletes

As with past league events, the tournament raised money for high school sports programs. This year, proceeds will benefit the swim team at Chief Sealth International High School. Student athletes from the school also volunteered throughout the day, helping run the tournament and supporting players.

League Growth and Weekly Play

Rosina Geary noted that the Westside Pickleball League now serves more than 300 players each week, reflecting steady growth since its founding.

“We have more than 130 players registered to compete,”

she said while describing the event’s success. Interested players can learn more about the league and upcoming activities on its website.

Community Impact

The Rally on the Rock not only kicked off a new season but also strengthened ties between players, students, and the wider community. With expanding participation and continued partnerships with local schools, the league is poised for another year of steady growth and positive impact.
