Plainfield Scores Big as Massive Indoor Pickleball Courts Set to Open on North Avenue

Plainfield Indoor Pickleball Courts Launch: Indoor pickleball is coming to Plainfield at 768-900 North Avenue after a developer changed plans for a new building. Originally, the first floor was all warehouse space, but 42,162 square feet will now be leased to a PickleRage franchise, giving residents first-floor access to recreational courts.

Development Plans Modified

The change was approved at this month’s Plainfield City Council meeting. The building was originally set to have 118,000 square feet of industrial space on the first floor and 75,000 square feet of recreational space on the second floor. The PickleRage tenant requested first-floor space during construction, replacing the previously planned second-floor recreational area.

Features and Community Impact

PickleRage will include 18 pickleball courts, restrooms, a reception area, a juice bar, a party room, and a sports shop. A 1,800-square-foot mezzanine will feature a restaurant, spectator viewing area, and another restroom. The facility will make pickleball more accessible to the community and could attract players of all ages, while providing a new recreational destination in Plainfield.
