Event Details and Schedule
The festivities kick off at 8 a.m. at Riverside Park with a highly anticipated pickleball tournament. Additional attractions, including face painting, food trucks, arts and crafts vendors, and pickling demonstrations, will open at 10 a.m. and run until 2 p.m. The event is not only a celebration of pickleball but also a key fundraiser organized by FoodWorks Alliance.
A Mission-Driven Fundraiser
“FoodWorks Alliance is a non-profit organization in South Zanesville. We’re on Pinkerton Lane. We help small and aspiring food businesses get their start by offering them membership to our kitchen incubator. They can rent the kitchen by the hour, they can store everything they need there and they get guidance on how to start and run their businesses via our partnerships,” said Amy Aurore, executive director of FoodWorks Alliance.
The $45 entry fee for the pickleball tournament will support FoodWorks Alliance’s program, “Recovery with a Purpose.” This initiative helps women in recovery from substance abuse gain employment skills through a 12-week work program in the FoodWorks kitchen, leading to full-time job opportunities elsewhere.
“This actual fundraiser for one of our in-house programs called ‘Recovery with a Purpose.’ We help women in recovery from drugs and alcohol get a fresh start with work. We have them work in our kitchen for 12 weeks and they then move on to full-time positions elsewhere. So this actual fundraiser directly benefits that program. So that obviously feels really awesome,” Aurore explained.
Family-Friendly Fun
In addition to the tournament, the event will feature a relay race and other games for children. As of Monday, there are still openings in mixed doubles, men’s doubles, and women’s doubles categories for those interested in participating.

Picklefest is making a grand return to Zanesville this Saturday, organized by FoodWorks Alliance. The event, held at Riverside Park, kicks off at 8 a.m. with a pickleball tournament. The day will also feature a relay race and games for children. Spots are still available in mixed, men’s, and women’s doubles.
