Winners of Summer Sizzle State Championships: Calvert City Pickleball players showed their skills at the MPC St. Louis Summer Sizzle State Championships, held from July 24-28, 2024. The event took place at one of the largest indoor pickleball facilities in the U.S., boasting 18 courts. The tournament attracted 258 players over four days, competing in various categories including Men’s and Women’s Singles, Doubles, and Mixed Doubles across skill levels 3.0 to 5.0 and age groups from 18U to 70+.
Notable Performances
The competition was intense, with standout performances from local players. In the 3.5 Mixed Doubles category, Kenzie Wilson and Landon Wilson fought through 17 games across eight matches to secure a Silver medal. Similarly, Brent Thompson and Jennifer Wilson clinched Bronze in the 4.5 Mixed Doubles, playing 12 games in five matches.
