Pickleball in Irvington Park’s Upgrade: The renovation project at Irvington Park has successfully concluded, marking a significant upgrade for local tennis and pickleball players. County officials celebrated the completion of these enhancements on Friday, emphasizing the positive impact on recreational opportunities within the community.
Facility Upgrades
The park’s tennis courts have been renovated with a new playing surface, upgraded fencing, and modern netting. A key feature of the renovation is the conversion of one tennis court into two dedicated pickleball courts.
This addition caters to the growing popularity of pickleball, providing a new avenue for residents to engage in the sport. The design and management of these improvements were handled in-house by the Department of Public Works, which ensured that the project proceeded without delays.
Shore Top Construction Corp. of Howell was awarded the publicly bid contract for $438,750 to carry out the construction work, funded by a grant from the American Rescue Program.
