Pickleball in Reservoir Park’s Upgrades: New Opportunities

Pickleball in Reservoir Park’s Upgrades: In a continuing effort to enhance Reservoir Park, the Borough of Tyrone has completed a significant upgrade to its roller hockey rink. The park, already boasting improvements like a refurbished bridge and new restrooms, now features a newly surfaced rink that doubles as a pickleball court.

The updated rink includes regulation lines for both roller hockey and pickleball, with an added gray area designating the pickleball kitchen—the non-volley zone. This upgrade is more than just a cosmetic change; it represents a strategic move to boost local engagement and attract visitors.

The Tyrone Pickleball Club, recognizing the potential of the upgraded facility, will host a tournament in August. With 40 teams already registered, the event promises to draw participants and spectators from both near and far, showing the park’s new dual-purpose functionality. The tournament will run from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on August 3 at Reservoir Park.
