The Picklr Launches New Location in McKinney: As pickleball’s popularity is at its peak, The Picklr, North America’s fastest-growing indoor pickleball franchise, has opened its latest location at Eldorado Plaza in McKinney. The new facility replaces a former Bed, Bath and Beyond store.
The Picklr’s expansion into McKinney marks a significant step for the franchise, known for its rapid growth and commitment to promoting the sport. Whitestone REIT, the property owner, celebrated the opening, emphasizing its positive impact on local residents and visitors alike.
“The opening of Picklr represents a strong upgrade in tenant quality at the Trader Joe’s-anchored center,” Whitestone REIT COO Christine Mastandrea said. thrilled to welcome The Picklr to Eldorado Plaza and capitalize on the strong wave of interest in pickleball.
Growth and Future Plans for The Picklr
The Picklr in McKinney joins a growing network of indoor pickleball facilities in North Texas. In May, Dill Dinkers, another indoor pickleball company, announced its 14th regional development deal, with plans to open at least 50 locations across North Texas, including in Mansfield, Keller, McKinney, Little Elm, and Southlake.
Other venues such as Pickleball Kingdom in Plano, Pickle and Social in Frisco, Picklemall in Dallas, and Picklr locations in Dallas and Fort Worth are part of this expanding pickleball community. Picklr at Eldorado Plaza, anchored by Trader Joe’s, Starbucks, Hollywood Feed, and Christina’s Mexican Restaurant, introduces a new athletic dimension to the center’s lineup.
The Picklr’s presence not only increases foot traffic but also meets the community’s needs with a best-in-class operator using a sport designed to unite people of all ages. The franchise has announced plans for 38 new clubs across the U.S., with 52 additional leases in final negotiations for openings in 2024 and 2025. In February, The Picklr welcomed former NFL player Drew Brees as a brand ambassador, investor, and area developer of 20 Picklr franchises. The partnership with Pickleball Inc. aims to drive franchise growth and new memberships at Picklr locations.

Since acquiring Eldorado Plaza in 2017, Whitestone REIT has worked to enhance the property, with The Picklr’s addition representing the latest in a series of improvements.
