Local Enthusiasts Share Their Passion
One of Jackson’s dedicated pickleball players, Eddie Kessler, was seen on the courts during the nationally recognized day for the sport. Playing since 2020, Kessler frequents the courts six days a week. “It’s very competitive,” mwntioned Kessler. “Anybody can play it from the very young to the very old.” He also expressed his belief that pickleball will one day become an Olympic sport.
The Journey of Brian Jones
Brian Jones, another avid player, began his pickleball journey a year and a half ago by taking free beginner lessons from Jackson’s pickleball ambassador, Ron Harris. “I had never heard of pickleball before,” Jones shared. “I always played a little tennis, played a little ping pong. And then it was just pretty natural to pickleball. I got the bug like everybody did. It’s a great way to meet new people, get a little workout in sweat, and just have a good time.”
