Ace Pickleball Club Arrives Enola with High Standards

Ace Pickleball Club Arrives Enola: The Ace Pickleball Club launched its operations on August 10, 2024, at 312 E. Penn Drive in Enola. The new 29,000-square-foot facility boasts 10 playing courts and two dinking courts, designed to offer a top-notch pickleball experience. The facility’s grand opening followed two days of soft openings, welcoming players from across the Midstate to explore this premier indoor venue.

Owner Bob Miller expressed his enthusiasm about the project. “Pickleball’s a great sport,” he noted.

“It’s a lot of fun to play. It’s extremely accessible to a variety of age groups and skill levels. Once you get into it, you can go as far as you want, and there’s some really high-level players here. So going into this, whether it was weather-based, court availability-based, style of play, we knew that what we’re going to be able to offer here was just kind of something that made a lot of sense to us.” – (Bob Miller)

Miller and his father, David, took six months from concept to completion, focusing first on securing a suitable location before overseeing construction and hiring.

Facility Features and Offerings

Ace Pickleball Club, the first of its kind in the region, offers a temperature-controlled environment and a variety of membership options. With a focus on accessibility, the facility features courts labeled from beginner to advanced levels, allowing members to jump into matches as soon as they arrive. Future events include glow-in-the-dark pickleball and a championship series. Membership fees start at $29 for the first month, with a recurring cost of $99 per month. The club operates seven days a week, with extended hours Monday through Friday.

Technology and Community Focus

The facility is equipped with cutting-edge technology, including play-sight viewing systems and layer-shock court absorption systems. Members can also use the paddle demo program at no extra charge. Before Ace’s opening, options in the area were limited to Smash Point Pickleball in Mechanicsburg and new outdoor courts at Carlisle’s LeTort Park.

Leander “LT” Toney, an Ace employee and certified pickleball coach, shared his perspective.

“In Central PA, the pickleball scene is definitely a sport where everyone loves to play and enjoy. There’s other areas, like outside of Philadelphia or even New Jersey, where the play is more competitive. But I would say Central PA, the play is more social. People have a lot more fun with it, and a lot more people enjoy it as a hobby, as a pastime.” – (Toney)

Toney praised the club’s community-oriented approach, emphasizing the friendly and welcoming atmosphere that has already made a positive impact on newcomers.

A Legacy of Success

For Bob Miller, the opening marked the realization of a shared dream with his father.

“It means a lot to do it with my dad. This was a big project for us, and we wanted to do something like this. And in terms of the community, I think it’s really big for the community. To be able to do that here in Enola, and hopefully get more players introduced to pickleball, it’s rewarding. It’s exciting. It’s everything.” – (Bob Miller)
