Tysons’ New Indoor Pickleball Facility Scores Big: Game On

Tysons’ New Indoor Pickleball Facility: Pickleball, a sport blending tennis, badminton, and ping-pong, has rapidly gained popularity across the country. Its appeal lies in its simplicity and fun, making it accessible to players of all ages and skill levels. The sport’s booming popularity has even sparked the creation of a Major League team and discussions about its inclusion in the Olympics.

Meeting Demand in DC: The Pickleball Club of Tysons

In response to the growing demand for pickleball courts in the DC area, The Pickleball Club of Tysons has opened its doors. Located in an industrial park near the Silver Line Metro, this new indoor facility features six dedicated pickleball courts, allowing enthusiasts to play year-round. Tarlika Amin, co-owner and chief operating officer, spearheaded the project after experiencing the shortage of indoor courts firsthand.

“It was hard to find courts to play. I had to go to Chantilly to find an indoor court and they were always booked up. Some people call me a serial entrepreneur; when I see an opportunity to do something, I make up my mind to do it.” – (Amin)

A Space for Everyone: Lessons, Leagues, and Corporate Retreats

The Pickleball Club of Tysons caters to all levels of players, offering lessons, clinics, and open play sessions. The courts, featuring CushionMaster surfaces, provide a softer playing experience and are ideal for casual and competitive games. The club has quickly become a favorite spot for weekend round-robins, which often sell out.

Additionally, the facility’s 90,000-square-foot space includes a comfortable lounge area, making it an inviting place for new players and seasoned pros. The club has also attracted interest from corporate groups, with many companies booking the courts for team-building events.

“We’re seeing great demand from both corporate groups and groups of friends to utilize the courts for their social hours.” – (Amin)

Looking Ahead: League Play and National Mall Pop-Up

The Pickleball Club of Tysons is set to host socially competitive league play starting in September, with registration options for individuals, groups, and teams. For those looking to perfect their game, the club is the perfect spot to prepare for the second annual pickleball pop-up on the National Mall, scheduled for September 27-28. Players can also cheer on club employees Paul Lambers and Ryan Lopez, who will be showing their skills at the event.

Whether players are looking to show off their skills during open play or simply enjoy a fun game with friends, The Pickleball Club of Tysons offers a welcoming environment for all. With drop-in rates starting at $10 and non-member court bookings at $16, it’s easy to get your pickleball fix. And if players don’t have their equipment, the club has them covered. Plus, players are welcome to bring their food and drinks to keep their energy up while they play.
