Valdosta’s First Indoor Pickleball Hub: Revolutionizing the Game in South Georgia

Valdosta’s First Indoor Pickleball Hub: On September 3rd, Valdosta will become home to South Georgia’s first-ever indoor pickleball facility, offering a new venue for enthusiasts of the rapidly growing sport.

Winnersville Pickleball, founded by Thomas Provost and Chris Connell, promises to be a game-changer for all beginners and seasoned players by providing a controlled environment for year-round play. Provost, a former Valdosta State University tennis champion and local Hahira resident, teamed up with Connell, a Hahira native and health insurance broker, to bring this vision to life.

Their partnership started with the idea of creating an indoor tennis facility to counter the challenges of the region’s summer heat and unpredictable weather. However, after Provost discovered pickleball, their focus shifted to this increasingly popular sport. Despite Connell’s initial hesitation, he quickly became an avid pickleball player, leading the duo to develop the concept for Winnersville Pickleball.

Pickleball’s popularity has surged nationwide due to its accessibility. The sport’s smaller court, underhand serve, and easy-to-control ball make it a less intense alternative to tennis, reducing the risk of injury and making it approachable for players of all skill levels.

Winnersville Pickleball will feature a section dedicated to open play, encouraging social interaction among players. The facility will host various events tailored to different skill levels, ensuring an enjoyable atmosphere for everyone.

A standout feature of the new facility is the integration of AI cameras on select courts, provided by Save My Play. These cameras allow players to record their sessions, watch replays, and analyze their performance, enhancing the learning experience.

To introduce new players to the sport, Winnersville Pickleball will offer a free beginner clinic. The clinic aims to make it easy for those who have never played before to get started, with paddles provided and a coach on hand to guide participants through the basics.

With the opening of Winnersville Pickleball, Valdosta is set to become a hub for pickleball enthusiasts, offering a state-of-the-art facility that caters to players of all levels.
