Bryan’s Pickleball Tournament Raises Funds: For pickleball enthusiasts and newcomers, the 2nd Annual Pickleball Palooza offers a chance to play the game while supporting a meaningful cause. Hosted by the Bryan-based non-profit Voices for Children, this tournament aims to benefit children in the foster care system.

Amy Faulkner, Executive Director of Voices for Children, shared details of the event during an appearance on First News at Four.

“Voices for Children is the local CASA Program for court-appointed special advocates. We train volunteers from the community to serve as advocates for kids in foster care. Our volunteers are working within the Child Protection System and with local attorneys advocating for and making recommendations to our judges.” – (Faulkner)

The Pickleball Palooza is set for Saturday, October 12th, at the Omar Smith Instructional Tennis Center on the Texas A&M Campus. The event promises a full day of pickleball action, catering to players of all skill levels from beginners to advanced. Alongside the tournament, a raffle will be held, offering participants the chance to win a cruise with Royal Caribbean.

“The event is Saturday, October 12th. It’s going to be on the Texas A&M Campus at the Omar Smith Instructional Tennis Center, and so it’s going to be a really fun day of playing pickleball. Lots of pickleball play for anyone. Beginners, all the way up through advanced.” – (Faulkner)
