Effing Paddle Battle Event Highlights Calvert City’s Pickleball Talent

Effing Paddle Battle Event: Calvert City pickleball players ventured to Effingham, Illinois, from August 16-18 to compete in the Effing Paddle Battle. The tournament, hosted at the EPD SEHY Pickleball Courts, featured 10 outdoor permanent courts and drew 237 players.

Competitors battled across various divisions, including Singles, Men’s Doubles, Women’s Doubles, and Mixed Doubles, spanning skill levels from 3.0 to 4.5. The stakes were high, with first-place finishers earning a $200 payout.

Gold Medal Winners: Danette Baker and Ricky Baker claimed the top spot in the 3.0 Mixed Doubles division.

Silver Medal Winners: Ricky Baker and Brenden Thomas secured the silver in 3.5 Men’s Doubles.

Bronze Medal Winners: Danette Baker and Ricky Baker achieved bronze in the combined 3.0/3.5 Mixed Doubles division.
