ARPO Pickleball Tournament Wrap-Up in Alamosa: Carroll Park was abuzz with the sounds of pickleball as the first Annual Alamosa Regional Pickleball Organization (ARPO) Social Tournament took center stage on Saturday. The air was filled with familiar terms like “Dink,” “Drive,” “Drop,” “Lob,” and “Kitchen” as spectators witnessed the thrilling action.

Red vs. Blue: A Competitive Showdown

Twenty-four players faced off in an intense competition, divided into Red and Blue teams, engaging in eight rounds and a total of thirty-two games. Red team started strong but faced a fierce challenge as the game progressed, eventually losing ground to the Blue team, which clinched victory with a robust finish.

A Celebration of Community

The tournament concluded with a vibrant barbecue social lunch at the park, where players and their guests gathered to celebrate. Dee Rudoff, an ARPO board member who was instrumental in organizing the event, remarked, “The social tournament was conceived as a structured event to bring together our regular local players in a fun and competitive way, while including their families as spectators, and for a delicious cookout afterward. Thanks to the support of ARPO board members and volunteers, the event ran very smoothly, and the feedback from players was overwhelmingly positive.
