Sherwood Introduces 24-Hour Pickleball Courts: The City of Sherwood is preparing to open its latest recreational addition: brand new pickleball courts at City Hall Park. These courts, scheduled for a grand opening on June 20th, immediately following the Third Thursday in the Park concert, mark Central Arkansas’ first and only 24-hour pickleball facility.
Mayor Mary Jo Heye-Townsell expressed enthusiasm about the new courts, stating,
“We are thrilled to offer this new amenity to our community. The 24-hour pickleball courts will provide a fantastic recreational option for residents of all ages and skill levels. We encourage everyone to come out, enjoy the concert, and stay for some fun on the courts.”
The initiative reflects Sherwood’s commitment to promoting physical health and active lifestyles through enhanced recreational facilities. Located conveniently near the Sherwood Police Department, the new courts feature ample parking, handicapped-accessible bathrooms, a water bottle filling station, an expanded walking trail, improved lighting, and artistic installations.
