Smoke in the Air Pickleball Tournament: The Routt County Wildfire Mitigation Council has made plans for its first-ever Smoke in the Air Pickleball tournament, scheduled for September 21 at the Steamboat Tennis and Pickleball Complex. This event marks a significant step in supporting local wildfire mitigation efforts.

The tournament will feature a round-robin style doubles competition, where participants will face different teams in each match. This format promises to keep the games dynamic and engaging, offering players a unique experience throughout the event.

Open to All Adults

Smoke in the Air is open to players aged 18 and older. Attendees can enjoy the food and drinks provided during the event. The registration fee is set at a $100 donation per person, with an ambitious goal of raising $5,000.

Fundraising for Fire Mitigation

The funds raised will directly support various local wildfire mitigation initiatives, including the county-wide chipping program, resident rebate programs, and professional development for service providers on best mitigation practices.
