Chino Pickleball Court’s Parking Issues May Surface

Chino Pickleball Court’s Parking Issues: As Chino prepares to open its first two lighted pickleball courts at Chino Rancho Park, parking concerns are already on the horizon. The park, located at the intersection of Central Avenue and Phillips Boulevard, will offer just 14 parking spots, including five designated for accessible use.

City’s Plan for Parking Issues

Public Information Officer Matthew Bramlett addressed potential parking problems, stating, “If parking becomes an issue at any of the neighboring properties, the city will work with those property owners to mitigate the issue.” This proactive approach reflects the city’s commitment to managing any overflow from the limited parking availability.

Design and Amenities

The 1.3-acre Chino Rancho Park will also include an inclusive playground catering to children with disabilities, alongside traditional playground equipment for all children. Additional features of the park are walking trails, fitness stations, a picnic shelter, restrooms, open space, historical markers, and an entry monument.

Community Reaction

Community Services, Parks, and Recreation Commissioner Linda Takeuchi expressed her enthusiasm at Monday’s meeting, highlighting the park’s significance. “I am so looking forward to the Chino Rancho Park opening,” Takeuchi remarked. She emphasized the park’s value as a welcome replacement for the old concrete reservoir that had stood on the site since the 1940s, according to Champion archives.
