Marblehead’s Pickleball Fundraiser for Girls Inc. and Research: Courtside Charity

Marblehead’s Pickleball Fundraiser: Marcel Quiroga, a Marblehead native and owner of TQM Wealth Partners, alongside her pickleball group, the Glo Girls, is gearing up for the second annual Win 4 All tournament. Scheduled for September 20-22, the event aims to raise funds for Girls Inc. in Boston and Lynn. Last year’s tournament successfully raised $20,000, and this year, Quiroga and her team are setting their sights on $30,000.

Every dollar is going to fund more programming at Girls Inc. so more girls can benefit” Quiroga stated. Girls Inc. serves girls aged 5 to 25, offering programs designed to boost confidence, enhance study skills, and educate on health and sexuality to protect against risky behaviors.

Girls Inc. gives them a space where they can increase their confidence, learn studying skills and learn about their health and sexuality so they know how to protect themselves from risky behaviors.” – (Quiroga)

The tournament kicks off with an opening cocktail reception and fun games on Friday, September 20. Competitive play continues with men’s and women’s doubles on Saturday and mixed doubles on Sunday. For additional details, visit pickleballbrackets.com and search for “TQM.”

Move4Heather Tournament

On September 28-29, Marblehead Pickleball will host the Move4Heather tournament at the Veterans School to support the Heather Walker Fund. This event is in memory of Heather Walker, who passed away from brain cancer a year ago. Friends of Marblehead Basketball is co-sponsoring the tournament.

Like many in Marblehead, Friends of Marblehead Basketball feels a special connection to Heather Walker and her husband, Stephen, and family. We kicked off fundraising last year and thought it would be fitting to collaborate with Marblehead Pickleball in Move4Heather fashion to continue to honor her. Heather is a true inspiration and touched so many lives in our community and beyond. It is such an honor to be part of this incredible weekend and raise funds to find a cure for glioblastoma.” – (Lauren Andriano)
