Rules and Regulations
The upcoming Round Robin Pickleball League is set to provide a competitive and flexible environment for players, utilizing a format that emphasizes consistency and accountability. The league will operate with fixed partners, ensuring that each team has the opportunity to develop chemistry and strategy over the course of the season.
Every week, teams will engage in one match, with the structure spanning five weeks and including one bye week. The league’s format is designed to be straightforward yet challenging: teams will play 3 games to 11 points, with a win-by-2 rule in effect. The decision on who serves first is left to the participants, allowing for a collaborative approach to each match.
Participation comes at a cost of $20 per player, with an additional $5 service fee per division entered. For players involved in multiple divisions, such as Men’s Doubles and Mixed Doubles, the total fee would amount to $30. This fee structure supports the league’s operations while maintaining accessibility for all participants.
All match scores will be reported to DUPR, with the responsibility of posting scores resting on the winning team. This ensures that the competitive integrity of the league is upheld and that all results are accurately recorded. Players are tasked with scheduling their matches at mutually agreed-upon court locations, reinforcing the league’s commitment to flexibility and player autonomy.
As the regular season concludes, a playoff format will be introduced, details of which will be determined based on participation levels. To qualify for the playoffs, players must complete all scheduled matches, emphasizing the importance of commitment throughout the season.
