Pickleball Fundraiser in Hardeeville: In a heartfelt show of community support, Hardeeville’s Parks, Recreation & Tourism Department is set to host the Serve & Support Pickleball Tournament on September 13 and 14 at the Hardeeville Recreation Center. The event, which is open to participants aged 50 and over, is dedicated to aiding Mike Benton, a former city police officer currently battling cancer.

Tournament Details and Registration Fees

The tournament will feature two events. The registration fee for the first event is $30, while the second event, if participants choose to enter, costs an additional $10. Benton expressed his gratitude for the support, noting the immense cost of his treatment and the importance of community aid during this challenging time.

It’s very heart-touching and I just appreciate it, you know, so very much,” Benton said. “You know, of course, the cost of treatment is astronomical. And I couldn’t do it alone.

Local businesses have rallied around the cause, donating items that will be raffled off during the tournament. This community-driven effort underscores the deep bonds within Hardeeville and the shared commitment to supporting one of their own in a time of need.
