Pickleball Takes Center Stage in Amira’s Development, Enhances Lifestyle

Pickleball Takes Center Stage in Amira’s Development: As the 550-acre Amira community in Tomball progresses into its final developmental phase, pickleball enthusiasts are set to benefit from the addition of three new courts. Johnson Development Services, which is overseeing the completion of the final homesites at Amira, is incorporating this popular sport into the neighborhood’s array of amenities.

The new pickleball courts, which opened this summer, reflect the community’s commitment to offering diverse recreational options for its residents.

Enhanced Amenities for Active Lifestyles

Amira’s expansion includes a range of amenities designed to support an active lifestyle. The introduction of three pickleball courts highlights the community’s dedication to providing high-quality recreational facilities. Alongside the pickleball courts, Amira has also added a nature-inspired splash pad, a dry creek bed, and is set to open a new pocket park by the end of October. These features contribute to a vibrant and engaging environment for residents.

Community Integration and Historical Context

The addition of pickleball courts aligns with Amira’s goal of blending modern amenities with its historical roots. Originally a horse farm, the site now boasts various recreational facilities that cater to contemporary lifestyles while preserving elements of its past. The two dog parks, Pony Park and Derby Dog Park, are examples of how the development honors its history.

Strategic Location and Community Appeal

Located north of the Grand Parkway and east of Mueschke Road, Amira benefits from easy access to major routes and local amenities, making it an attractive option for potential homeowners. Matt Banks, vice president of Johnson Development Services, emphasized the importance of the community’s historical context in its development.

Amira has sold almost 1,000 homes and within the next few years will have around 1700 in total. It’s always helpful when there is a history to the tract that we’re buying,” Banks said. “Oftentimes there isn’t and it’s just a random piece of dirt but in this case, there was a history to it … It ended up making sense to continue the link back to the original form.

Pricing and Availability

Beazer Homes and Perry Homes offer properties in Amira with base prices ranging from $300,000 to $690,000. The new pickleball courts are a significant addition, enhancing the appeal of the community for active individuals and families.
