Lake Kennedy Pickleball Center Surpasses Membership Targets: Grand Success

Lake Kennedy Pickleball Center Surpasses Membership Targets:  Since its grand opening on August 28, the Lake Kennedy Racquet Center in Cape Coral has captured the attention of racquet sports enthusiasts. With state-of-the-art facilities, including 32 pickleball courts and 12 tennis courts, the center quickly became a hot spot for both tennis and pickleball players.

Membership Explosion

In just a short time, the center has far exceeded initial membership expectations. As of Wednesday, the center boasts 230 individual memberships, 266 couple memberships, 128 family memberships, and seven junior memberships, totaling over 700 members. General Manager Tom Stegeman noted that the center initially budgeted for 625 memberships for the entire year. “And they’re still coming,” Stegeman said. “We haven’t even hit season yet. It’s been great. The reception has been great.

A Busy Inaugural Tournament

The center’s opening coincided with the United Pickleball State Championship Series, which attracted players from across Florida. “It was ideal the opening happened in conjunction with the tournament, because the place was bustling, and there were a lot of players here,” Stegeman observed. “Everything all around has been great.

High Praise and Future Plans

City officials have praised the center for its cutting-edge facilities and its potential to set a new standard for racquet sports in Florida. “Boasting cutting-edge facilities tailored for top-tier tournaments, this center is one of the grandest outdoor court parks in the state,” they stated.

Stegeman highlighted the appeal of the center’s organized play and the convenience it offers to members. “People have a place where they can finally play with their friends, play with their peers, and play at the appropriate levels,” he said. He also mentioned the anticipated opening of the venue’s concessions within a couple of weeks.

Membership and Discounts

To celebrate the opening, the center is offering a 50% discount on annual memberships for the first two months. After this period, rates will revert to normal. Veterans and first responders from Cape Coral are eligible for a 20% discount on memberships. The center offers various membership options, including annual, semi-annual, and monthly plans, with different pricing tiers for residents and non-residents.

Future Growth and Opportunities

Stegeman noted the influx of players from outside Cape Coral and emphasized the value of the center’s diverse playing opportunities. “The beauty of the complex is the variety of play that you’re able to get,” he said. “You’re going to improve day-in-and-day-out by playing different people, and people of different levels.
