Located at 33625 Pin Oak Parkway in Avon Lake, the 55,000-square-foot facility had its soft opening on September 7, drawing around 400 visitors, according to co-owners Justin Hellinger and Chris Haas. The grand opening was marked by significant celebrations as Avon Lake welcomed the new venue with enthusiasm.
Rising Demand for Pickleball
“The demand for pickleball in Avon Lake, and seemingly everywhere else, has skyrocketed. The city is lucky to have a business that can meet some of that need for Avon Lake residents who have taken up the sport.” – (Avon Lake Community Development Director Ted Esborn)
Hellinger attributes the sport’s surge in popularity to its easy learning curve and broad appeal, which gained traction during the coronavirus pandemic.
Why Avon Lake?
After evaluating various locations, Hellinger and his team settled on Avon Lake.
“The continued growth of Avon Lake was very intriguing, and Pin Oak Parkway has had tremendous growth. It was the perfect location for the fastest growing sport in the USA.” – (Hellinger)
Hellinger emphasized that the facility aims to offer a welcoming and family-friendly environment.
Facility Features
The Cleveland Premier Pickleball facility is designed as a comprehensive pickleball ecosystem. It features two club and lounge areas, food service, pickleball supplies, and club memberships. Additionally, it includes a padel court—a sport combining pickleball and tennis—along with 15 pickleball courts, four oversized championship courts, and two golf simulators. Hellinger highlighted the facility’s layout, which allows for viewing of all courts and features comfortable hangout areas.
