Philadelphia’s New Ballers Complex: Pickleball, Padel, and More in a Game-Changing Venue

Philadelphia’s New Ballers Complex: Philadelphia is about to welcome a new sports destination that promises to shake up the local scene: Ballers, a social sports complex set to open in Fishtown in early 2025. The project, backed by investors including Philadelphia athletes Malcolm Jenkins and Tyrese Maxey, is designed to offer a variety of indoor sports options, alongside a unique hospitality experience.

Ballers will house Philadelphia’s first indoor pickleball courts — six in total — catering to one of the fastest-growing sports in the country. But pickleball is just the beginning. The facility will also introduce another sport, Padel, which is gaining popularity in country clubs across the U.S. In addition, Ballers will feature four indoor golf simulators, a short game practice area with two sand traps, a small field suitable for 5-on-5 soccer, and two squash courts.

Amanda, one of the project managers, highlights the inclusivity and accessibility of Ballers.

“Unlike other sports clubs, this is going to be a pay-as-you-go or pay-as-you-visit concept. We want everyone in Philly to experience what we’re building. Whether you want to play pickleball, practice your golf swing, or just enjoy a drink at the bar, everyone is welcome.” – (Amanda)

Beyond the courts, Ballers aims to create a full social experience. The complex will feature a full bar and restaurant, state-of-the-art locker rooms with saunas and steam rooms, and a vibrant social scene with music and DJs.

“It’s a place where people can not only play sports but also socialize and relax.” – (Amanda)

Throughout the summer, the Ballers team has been hosting outdoor events and games, giving locals a taste of what’s to come. They’ve built excitement with pop-ups and app-based reservations, allowing people to experience the concept firsthand. The full indoor complex is set to open in late February 2025, with the finishing touches underway in a historic Philadelphia Electric Company building that promises to provide an impressive setting.

“It’s going to feel like you’re walking into Grand Central Station. People’s heads are going to explode when they see the interior.” – (Amanda)

Ballers is designed to appeal to all levels of athletes and enthusiasts.

“You don’t have to be an elite athlete to have fun here. We’re calling it a social sport because it’s about more than just competition. You can play with anyone, even your grandma, and still have a great time.” – (Amanda)

The vision for Ballers extends beyond sports. It’s about building a community centered around shared interests and activities.

“People love to gather around sports, whether they’re playing or just watching. We’re creating a space where everyone can come together.”

With its unique blend of sports and social activities, Ballers is positioned to become a new hub for recreation in Philly. As excitement builds for its early 2025 opening, locals and visitors alike will have a new destination to look forward to — one that combines the thrill of sports with a lively social atmosphere.
