Pickleball Fever Hits Fort Collins: Fort Collins has completed its feasibility study and community outreach process regarding a proposed 12-court outdoor pickleball complex. The results reveal a strong community demand for additional pickleball courts. The study, commissioned after a generous donation from the Fort Collins Pickleball Club through the City Give program, evaluated various park spaces and assessed community interest via a questionnaire.
Upcoming Presentation
The city will present the findings and proposed plan at an open house scheduled for September 18, from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at the Oval Pavilion, Fossil Creek Community Park, 5821 S. Lemay Ave. The event will provide an opportunity for residents to review the study results and offer feedback.
Survey Insights
The questionnaire, which closed on June 7, garnered 1,448 responses. Notably, 83% of respondents indicated that they currently play pickleball, and 89% expressed that a pickleball complex would benefit the community. However, concerns were raised regarding potential noise impacts, maintenance of existing and future courts, court programming, and the possibility of adding more than 12 courts.
