Kalamazoo Christian’s Pickleball Tournament: Event for Charity and Community

Kalamazoo Christian’s Pickleball Tournament: Kalamazoo Christian High School is gearing up for its second annual Pickleball Tournament, a key fundraiser for the Kalamazoo Christian Booster Club. Set for September 28, the one-day event will feature a range of competitive brackets and serve as a community-centered fundraiser.

Event Overview

The tournament will take place at Kalamazoo Christian High School’s tennis facility, located at 2121 Stadium Drive. The venue will utilize four existing tennis courts, with temporary nets to accommodate up to eight pickleball courts. In case of high participation, additional courts may be set up in the parking lot.

Tournament Structure

  • Start Times: Initial matches are scheduled to start at 10:00 AM, with a second wave beginning at 1:00 PM. Participants should be prepared for potential start times as late as 2:00 PM, contingent on the number of temporary nets available. Final schedules will be confirmed 5-7 days before the event.
  • Brackets: The tournament will feature beginner, intermediate, and advanced brackets, allowing for a variety of team combinations. The beginner bracket is designed for those prioritizing fun over competition, while the advanced bracket caters to more competitive play.

Registration and Payment

Registration is per person, with a fee of $55. Participants should select “Onsite Payment” upon registration and will settle their fees in cash, card, or PayPal on the event day. Each participant must register individually, and if a partner is not yet registered, the “I NEED” option will allow them to be paired once they register.

Brackets may be adjusted based on the number of teams, and the tournament reserves the right to create or modify divisions as necessary.

Weather Contingency

In the event of inclement weather, the tournament will move indoors to the 12th Street campus. There, six indoor courts will be available: three in the elementary gym and three in the middle school gym. Any changes will be communicated via email on September 27.

Refund Policy

The registration includes a non-refundable fee of $5. Full refunds (minus the $5 fee) are available until September 23 at 12:00 PM. No refunds will be issued after this deadline, including for weather-related cancellations.
